We Are Virginia Tech

I worked at Virginia Tech at the time of the shooting which killed more than 30 students and faculty. It was a difficult time for the University and those of us in University Relations had the challenge of both acknowledging the tragedy but also trying to lift the spirits of the community in a constructive way. It was especialy hard since the shooting was barely a month before.

 

This program book for the Fall Commencement that year included photos of all of the victims. It was distributed to all 24,000 people who attended the Graduation ceremonies.
